The London Potters Annual Members Exhibition 2024
In November I had the enormous pleasure of curating the London Potters Annual Members Exhibition for the second year running. Me, Lindy Barletta, Helen Ridgway and a group of volunteers consisting of London Potters members, spent a good day moving pots of every conceivable size, shape and variety around the two floors of the Morley Gallery in Lambeth, meticulously putting the exhibition together. One hundred and twenty potters presented just shy of three hundred and sixty pieces, all of which had to be placed cohesively to allow everyone to shine.
By no means an easy task, and one that required huge amounts of care and concentration, we toiled untilthe job was done. The result – if I do say so myself – was a beautiful exhibition showcasing the extraordinary talent that London Potters supports
and fosters. I was hugely proud of everyone’s efforts.
The following day, with the curation completed and the Private View shortly to open, the task of judging fell to me, Lindy, Rich Miller and Fay de Winter. We poured over the work, and much discussion was had, before the final decisions were made. Heartfelt congratulations to all who won a prizeor a commendation.
