Why I work with Handmade in Britain

makinggoode

My association with Handmade in Britain stretches back nearly 10 years now, ever since I was invited to be a selector for Handmade Chelsea in 2015. This relationship has grown progressively closer over eight years of “Curated by Dan Goode” and has now blossomed into my new role as Creative Consultant of the company.

I have always believed that events and shows should underpin those whom they represent, and in turn their approach and presentation should perfectly match the level of care and detail makers devote to their work. Handmade in Britain has always done this, both in its shows but also, latterly, in its online shop. This is the reason why I have worked with the company for so long and have wanted to deepen the relationship, its values are in tune with my own.

I have been fortunate in my journey in the world of craft, my work has led me ineluctably to people and organisations who share my values, and it’s these values I endeavour to uphold in all the many avenues of my practice.
